Privacy Policy for the Elevora App

This Privacy Policy describes how Elevora (we, us, or our) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our Shopify application (the App).

This policy applies to the merchants who install our App (Merchants) and, by extension, to their customers whose data is processed through the App (Customers).

1. Our Role: Data Processor

When a Merchant installs our App on their Shopify store, they are the Data Controllerof their Customers' personal information. This means the Merchant determines the purposes and means of processing that data.

Elevora acts as a Data Processor on behalf of the Merchant. We only process Customer data as instructed by the Merchant through their configuration and use of our App.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information from Merchants:

  • Shopify Account Information: When you install the App, we receive information from Shopify, such as your store name, contact email, and phone number.
  • App Configuration Data: We store the settings you configure within the App, such as widget colors, cashback percentages, and the content of the quests you create.
  • Payment Information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, we will collect necessary billing information.

B. Information from Customers (Processed on behalf of the Merchant):

  • Data from Shopify: We access and process data from the Merchant's Shopify account to provide our services. This includes:
    • Customer name and email address.
    • Order history (to calculate and award points for purchases).
  • Data Collected Through the App: Our App collects information directly from Customers as part of the loyalty program:
    • Email address, birthday, and answers to custom survey questions provided during the onboarding flow or quests.
    • Records of completed quests, points earned, and rewards redeemed.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we process to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App's services. This includes calculating points, displaying reward options, and allowing Customers to redeem points for coupons.
  • Enable the Merchant to operate their loyalty program. This includes providing the Merchant with an administrative dashboard to manage their program and view Customer engagement.
  • Allow Merchants to export their Customer data.
  • Communicate with Merchants about their account, billing, and App updates.
  • Enforce our terms of service and comply with legal obligations.

We will never sell, rent, or share Customer personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Sharing

We only share information with third-party service providers as necessary to operate our App, such as cloud hosting providers. We have agreements in place to ensure these providers protect the data.

The Merchant (as the Data Controller) is responsible for how they may share Customer data with other applications or services they use.

5. Data Retention

We retain Merchant data for as long as the App is installed on their store and for a reasonable period after for legal or operational purposes.

We retain Customer data processed on behalf of the Merchant for as long as the Merchant instructs us to, which is typically for the duration of their use of the App. When a Merchant uninstalls the App, we will delete the associated Customer data in accordance with our data retention schedule.

6. Your Rights

For Customers:

As we are the Data Processor, you should direct any requests to access, correct, or delete your personal data to the Merchant whose store you are a customer of. We will work with our Merchants to help them fulfill these requests.

For Merchants:

You may access and update your account information through your Shopify dashboard and the Elevora App admin panel.

7. Security

We are committed to protecting the information in our care. We take appropriate security measures, including technical and organizational steps, to protect data from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify Merchants of any significant changes by email or through the App's administrative interface.
